More about Rehearsals & Performances
WYO PLAY is looking for young performers–aged 12 thru 18 years old–who love to sing, but who are also willing to explore theater through improvisation, collaboration and creativity. The production team will spend the summer workshopping, staging and ultimately mounting the performances in early September, to be included as part of the WYO Theater’s Educational Series for the 2025-26 Season.
More about the Show
Conceived by Ian and GraceCannon-Wallace, the DINOSAUR ROCK MUSICAL incorporates well-known rock and popsongs from the 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. Audiences will recognize these tunes, but they will be surprised–and delighted–by the new lyrics, which have all been rewritten to be about your favorite dinosaurs! The original script follows two siblings, both facing big moments of change in their life. As they look ahead at the daunting task of growing up, the two siblings realize that, despite any doubt or uncertainty they feel, they don’t have to face the future alone.
About Young Theatre Makers
In past years, the high-school age performers of the Young Theatre Makers Ensemble have participated in Relative Theatrics’s Play/Write Showcase in Laramie, presented dramatic and comedic one-act plays by Emily Hageman and David Ives as well as the musical MEAN GIRLS(High School Version), which was produced in collaboration between WYO PLAY and Aspen Grove Music Studio.
