The Spicy Pickles feat. Hannah Rodriguez

The WYO Theater will be swinging Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m. as The Spicy Pickles featuring vocalist Hannah Rodriguez bring their high-energy, groove-driven sound to Sheridan.

The Spicy Pickles feat. Hannah Rodriguez is a Denver-based eight-piece band originally formed to play for swing dancers — and they still know how to keep a dance floor moving. Over time, the band has expanded its sound beyond classic big-band swing to incorporate funk, soul and pop influences, focusing on infectious grooves that connect with audiences of all generations.

Inspired by legends like Count Basie and Fats Waller alongside James Brown, the Pickles fuse vintage jazz charm with modern swagger. The band features some of Denver’s most in-demand musicians from the jazz and funk scenes, delivering tight arrangements, powerful horn lines and a lively stage presence.

Adding even more fire to the mix is vocalist Hannah Rodriguez, whose dynamic performance style and soulful vocals elevate the band’s signature sound.

The Pickles have built a national reputation, performing at festivals and venues coast to coast, including the main stage at the Telluride Jazz Festival, Sun Valley Jazz and Music Festival and Redwood Coast Music Festival. Their original music has been featured internationally in commercials and in the major motion picture “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman and Alicia Silverstone.

Whether you’re a dedicated jazz enthusiast or simply ready for a night of toe-tapping fun, this is your invitation to dress up and step out.
