Master Class
In the early 1970s, world famous opera star Maria Callas gave a series of master classes at the Juilliard School. In these classes, Maria allowed students unique access to her perspective from a lifetime’s dedication to a singular art. In Terrence McNally’s Tony Award-winning play, we get a glimpse of what one of these classes may have been like. Equally funny and emotionally stirring, McNally’s play also asks us profound questions about art and life: What is it like to get a tiny dose of perspective of “the best that has ever been?” What are the prices and prizes for a life dedicated to excellence?
