Contemporary Movement with Brandon Welch

We welcome you to join us for an open level Contemporary Movement workshop with Brandon Welch, Sheridan College Guest Artist and ’23 Ucross Fellow. Our workshop will integrate contemporary dance and improvisation with an emphasis on four key components of Brandon’s creative process – breath, groundedness, wholeness and momentum. Participants will be encouraged to move freely and confidently through simple floorwork, partnering and phrase work. Contemporary Movement participants will also be invited to preview a short excerpt of “Where Substance Meets Air,” which will premiere at the Whitney Center of the Arts the following evening.
