Area Achievement Day

The Sheridan Music Teachers Association is holding its annual Area Achievement Day on May 22nd in Tandem Hall at the WYO Performing Arts & Education Center.

Local K-12 piano, voice, and violin students of elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels are invited to participate. Students should prepare pieces to perform individually before an adjudicator, and will receive scores and feedback on their performances. Piano students receiving top scores become eligible to participate in the Wyoming Music Teachers Association State Achievement Day held Casper in early June.

The participation fee is $25 per student ($20 for students of SMTA members); limited scholarships are available. All registrations are due May 8th. For more information regarding student registration or becoming a member of our organization, please contact Amanda Patterson at 605-490-1764 or sheridanmusicteachers@gmail.com. Follow Sheridan Music Teachers Association on Facebook to keep up with future sponsored events and opportunities.

SMTA is the local chapter of the Music Teachers National Association, an organization dedicated to “promoting music education” and building a “vital music culture” through grants, scholarships, resources for music teachers, competitions, and performance opportunities for students among its many programs. Our local chapter invites any music teacher who is dedicated to growing in their craft and working with other area music teachers to provide opportunities to students.
