The META-morphosis

The META-morphsis
Devised and Performed by Sheridan High School Fall Drama Students
Directed by Grace Cannon
It’s Spring 2020, and three students are assigned to read The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka for English class. Just like Gregor Samsa who is suddenly turned into a bug, everyone is stuck at home – only able to connect from a distance online. As these students confront the new challenges in their lives, Kafka’s story unfolds and continues to mirror some of their experiences. This new original play was created partly from the lived experiences of the Fall Drama students, but also from their individual and collective imaginations. Ultimately, this story is about the impact that the changes due to COVID-19 have had on our social lives and relationships.
